This is an experimental gopher server set up to promote and encourage network training. Trainmat is an initiative of the UK Network Training Materials Project, a joint enterprise of NISP (Networked Information Services Project) and ITTI (Information Technology Training Initiative), based at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
WIRED Magazine now has a gopher, new as of Nov 26 according to the new-gopher list, at wired.com, usual port (70).

MOP - Israeli Industry R&D Information System 
A server dedicated to the dissemination of architectural knowledge.  This is a gopher server in its developmental stages.  However, many exciting ideas and projects are underway which will transform ArchiGopher into a true multimedia resource for all architecture faculty and students worldwide.
These images come from Pine Mountain Observatory. Most of these images are taken in the blue band, some taken in the near-infrared are designated as ir. In the 'nasagsfc' directory are some charts of the 1994/05/10 solar eclipse, made by the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and scanned by James R. Linenschmidt.
Topics covered are AVS tools, biology, fluid dynamics, geology, graph theory, optometry, and sculpture. There are approximately 24 images.

This directory contains images of plant species, which were derived from scanning transparencies taken by museum and herbarium collectors during expeditions.  Associated with these image files is descriptive catalog information which includes: the Latin species name, the location where it was photographed in the wild, the date of the photograph, the collector/photographer's name, the name of the image file(s) of that species in this archive, and the name of the institution the photographer/collector is associated with. =20

Unidata is a national program to help universities acquire and use weather data for teaching and research. The Unidata Program Center is providing these electronic weather maps to illustrate the products universities can generate with their own Unidata systems. There are about 400 images.

Seven images. The purpose of this gopher is to provide access to information (both data derived from VCR/LTER research and about future activities) to ecological researchers. Research activities of the VCR/LTER focus on the mosaic of transitions and steady-state systems that comprise the barrier-island/lagoon/mainland landscape of the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Primary study sites are located on Hog Island, Parramore Island and mainland marshes near Nassawadox VA. The VCR/LTER maintains a laboratory facility in Oyster, VA.

The Blacksburg Electronic Village is a project to link an entire town in Southwestern Virginia with a 21st century telecommunications infrastructure. This infrastructure will bring a useful set of information services and interactive communications facilities into the daily activities of citizens and businesses. This database has 4 images under an education directory.
These files are page images from The International Journal of Analytical and Experimental Modal Analysis, v7n2-v7n4 April-October 1992.  Each directory represents a separate article. When this experimental archive is complete, four issues will be available.  Each article will be accompanied by an ASCII abstract.
